Battle of Albert-2
It would have seemed the Oilers were on their way to a 3-2 win over the Flames last night, which would have meant also handing them their first loss.. but, with 1.5 seconds left in the third, Bourque played hero for the flames. Bourque fired a puck through traffic to meet a standing Khabibulin and managed to sneak the shot through the upright goalies feet. Overtime had no scoring so for the second game in a row the Oilers were headed to a shootout. Hemsky, who got the win in the shootout against Dallas, was once again forced into a pressure situation and had to score in order to keep the Oilers in the game. Although he had Kiprusoff beat he went top shelf and banged it square off the post. Oilers lose in a shootout, 4-3. Scoring for the Oilers were: Moreau, Visnovsky and Hemsky. While Langkow, Dawes and Bourque scored in regulation for Calgary, Dawes and Jokinen scored in the shootout. A disappointing loss for the Oil, but they will look to get back on the winning track Saturday when they take on the Montreal Canadians.
