Pats and Oilers in the Same Boat

Both the Regina Pats and the Edmonton Oilers have lost their last 7 games, and both teams sit at the bottom of their conferences. The Regina Pats 7th loss came from a 5-2 decision to the Medicine Hat Tigers, while the Oilers lost their 7th last night coming from score of 4-1 in favor of their Alberta rivals, the Calgary Flames.

To be fair, the Pats are missing a hand full of key players. Jordan Eberle and Teubert are off at the World Juniors, and Bell and Bortsmayer are leaving for the under 17's. Not to mention to horrible timing of Pym quitting the team and the injuries to Davidson and Carlson, leaving the Pats with only 3 defensemen to work with. As a result they are working with call-ups, so the chemistry just isn't there. Even though the Pats are missing these players it still shouldn't be used as an excuse. The Pats still have many unreal players left of the roster, it's just a matter of who will step up. With guys like Struebs, Leffs, Ashton and Weal there is no reason why they can't at least find a way to win one game!

The Pats look to bounce back against one of the tougest teams in the league, the Calgary Hitmen. The Pats take them on tonight! Good Luck Boys!

The Oilers have been missing key players on and off all season for various reasons. They have had main point contributors injured and others that are still suffering with affects of the flu that refuse to go away. The Oilers haven't had very good luck with their call-ups, the only one that has made an impact has been Potunly, but other then that, it has been slim pickins'.

The Oilers also look to bounce back when they play against the Maple Leafs Wednesday night. If the Oilers play at all good they should be able to pick up a much-needed two points.
