The Oilers took to the ice last night against their newest rival, the Vancouver Canucks. Unfortunately, the Canucks managed to score 5 goals in the first period! Que Edmonton's back up goalie, Dubnyk. The Oilers were only able to slip 3 goals past Luongo the whole game, and the Canucks got another 2 goals past Dubnyk to secure the win. Final score: Canucks 7, Oilers 3.
Scoring for the Oilers: Brule, McDonald, Penner
Scoring for the Canucks: Burrows, Raymond Sedin, Glass, Ehrnoff, Edler, Samuelsson
The Oilers did have a few good things come out of the game. Penner continued his hot streak earning 1 goal and 1 assist. Brule also had a goal and an assist, maybe Columbus didn't ruin this kids development afterall. Gagner also came away with 2 assists. McDonald and O'Marra got their first points after being called up from Springfield, coninsidenally, it was O'Marra who got the assist on McDonald's goal.
The Oilers get a bit of a break until Thursday when they take on the Detroit Red Wings.
