The Regina Pats got a HUGE win last night over the number one team in the Western Conference. The Pats dominated the highly-toted Tri-City Americans to a 7-1 victory, and handed the Am's their first loss on home ice. It was a great night for "Guhle the Goalie" who bounced back after being pulled in the Brandon game to stop 35 out of 36 shots.
Scoring for the Pats in the win: Jordan Eberle, Weal (2), Mitchell (2), Leffler, and Teubert
Scoring the lone goal for the Am's: Drozd
It's interesting, and kind of annoying, that even though the Pats dominated the game, somehow Tri-City managed to get the third star of the night, and Regina's Cody Carlson, who had three assists, didn't get a star. I don't want to jinx anything but Garrett Mitchell has been on a bit of a hot streak lately, he has 10 points in 16 games so far this season, he only had 15 all of last season. His hard work seems to be paying off!
The boys have a travel day today and then another day off tomorrow. Their next action is Tuesday against Hutt's former team, the Portland Winterhawks. Good Luck Boys!
