Pats Update

Since getting all of their key players back from various commitments and injuries, and the trade deadline having past, the Pats went on quite a tear last week. After losing to the Moose Jaw Warriors, the Pats came back to take victories over Medicine Hat, Brandon and Edmonton before losing a nail-biter to Swift Current on Saturday, but still picked up 1 point in the shootout loss.

The Pats are now 6 points back of the Broncos (who they play in back to back games this weekend) and 7 points back of the 8th place Prince Albert Raiders. The Pats are in control of their own destiny, if they can beat Swift Current in back to back games and then beat Kootney as well, providing PA looses, the Pats are right back in the mix. The Raiders play Brandon on Wednesday and Friday, if they could lose both of those it would be faaantastic!

The boys have looked quite unreal for the most part in the last few games, in particular the one against Brandon. The newly acquired top line of Ashton-Weal-Eberle seems to already have amazing chemistry together, and could be unstoppable down the stretch. Mitch McColm (who we got in exchange for Delahey) has been laying out guys with good-hard-clean hits! Infact, he earned the first ever, "KFC Crunch of the Night".

The Regina Pats take on the Swift Current Broncos Friday at the Brandt Centre, the start of a home and home. Good Luck Boys!
