Pat's Begin 2010...

.. with a win!! The Pat's were coming into their bout with the Lethbridge Hurricanes riding a steady 9 game losing streak. But, the Regina boys refused to make it 10, and as a result took the game tonight by a score of 4-2.

The boys found themselves down 2 goals early in the first and the immediate future was looking quite bleak, however the Pats found a way to battle back and scored 4 unanswered goals to capture the win, and more importantly the 2 points!

Scoring for the Pats were: Mappin, Ashton (2), Mitchell
Scoring for the Hurricanes were: Reners, Henke

Notice that Carter Ashton scored 2 goals for the Pats, hopefully this will serve as his break out game and he can begin a hot streak. It will be interesting to see how Jordan Eberle and Ashton work together when Jordan gets back, if they click it could be devastating. Brandon Davidson is also finally back from his knee injury and is already making an impact. He assisted on two of Regina's goals and was a big help in our own zone, especially with all of the call-ups and rookie D-men we have had to work with lately. I know, I know, Davidson is infact a rookie himself, but he has at least 2 or 3 years of age on some of the other guys.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the Pats, it sure is a good way to kick off the new year. Plus, it is also the last game that they will have to play without Jordan Eberle and Teubert as they should be back next weekend to help out the Pats, hopefully with some new hardware around their necks!

The Pats get a little break before their next game. They take on the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday at the Brandt Centre, which also kicks off a 6 game home-stint. Good Luck Boys!
